Pumpkin patch and the Zoo

Friday night we got to hang out with some good friends, Nate and Jackie, and their two little boys, Ryan and Ethan. We had a yummy dinner at their house up in Farmington, then went to a little (well, huge actually) pumpkin patch near their house. They had a fun little maze built out hay stacks - so it wasn't too high and a little bridge that parents could stand on and watch their kids run through the maze. They loved it! Then we walked around the big pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins that we are going to carve this week- and they were way cheap! Anyway, it was so much fun and we loved hanging out with them! Thanks guys!
Then Saturday we went to the zoo. It was such a nice day so we had to take advantage of the good weather. I didn't know what to expect with Cole since he is still so young, but he was loving it and pointing at all the little monkeys and pushing his nose right up against the windows, etc. It was so funny! Malia always has one thing that she remembers about each zoo trip...and this one I'm sure she'll be talking about for a while. We were looking at the elephants and one of them was pretty close to us, and it spread it's legs and started peeing...and then pooped right in front of us! Malia thought it was pretty interesting though and the whole day kept asking to go back and see the elephant pee and poop again. So I'm glad that she will come away with such a fond memory of the zoo this time! We actually saw the tiger taking a little bath in the water right up close to the glass, and some other really cool things, but the only thing she will remember is the elephant pooping. Lovely!

Exactly!!! That's what my kids would remember about the zoo. One trip we made consisted of amorous monkeys! The kids really wanted to know what they were doing! I think Eric and Danielle were with us on that trip. My kids also remember the one sorta naughty word or phrase from movie's that we see too! Perfect! Allyson

Elephant pooping! Wonderful. :) kids often do remember those type of things for some strange reason. Looks like you guys have been busy with lots of fun. I guess we all need to get in as much fun outside as possible because I think the cold winter weather will set in sooner than we expect. That's Utah for you.
