The kids

Today we took Cole to the doctor for a blood draw to see if the vaccinations he's been getting while on this study have been effective or not. So he is officially done with the study - well except a phone call in like 6 months. But the lady that usually is in charge of the study is pregnant and ready to pop any day...so she was training this lady that will take over for her when she has her baby. She was really nice...but poor Cole got poked 4 times by her and she couldn't get a vein. So when the original lady came in to help out, she got it right away - but Cole wasn't very happy about being poked so many times. Poor kid. I felt so bad for him. Even though I am used to having to poke kids over and over, sucking out noses, helping put stitches in or other forms of torture... it's different when it's your own kid. His eyes were all puffy and red splotchy all over his face. It was so sad! It was his nap time too...so at least he fell asleep pretty easily when we got home. Cole has had a rough couple of days. Yesterday morning he fell off our bed, then at grandma's house last night he fell half way down the stairs, and then fell off the little kiddy table out on the deck...and now the blood draw today. Poor baby. Good thing they forget these things when they are this age!
Malia had another difficult day at preschool...the teacher again told me she had a hard time listening today. She always tries to make me feel better after she tells me how Malia doesn't listen, and will say something like 'well, it was only for the second half of class this time'. So when preschool is only 3 hours...Malia was only being bad for an hour and a half this time. Good. Thanks. That's an improvement I guess...Seriously, how do you get your kids to listen? I feel like I have tried everything and it obviously isn't working. Please give me some ideas!! I don't know what to do.

Poor Cole!! I hate when they go through clutzy periods and have 200 things happen to them in a short period! ... lol. funny Malia... I have no advise for ya, but be sure to pass it on to me when you hear some! lol. ;)

Jen- Maybe you can try to reward her for being good at school with something that she really likes, You might have already tried that too! That is my only sugestion sorry!

Malia is such a cool girl. She is always happy and trying to help other people feel good.

I'm sorry about Cole...that's tough when you get poked 5 times...let alone 1 time. Even for me, I'd hate to be poked 5 times. The nice thing about Cole, though, is that he'll forget it in a week or so. Adults seem to remember those kind of things longer. And, about Malia- well, I'm not sure what to say to you because Cambri's always been a "good" listener, and Adelie's not preschool age. So...when you get the advise, let me know so I can start it with Adelie, who I know will be the distruptive type.
