Busy Day

Today was a fun filled day for the kids - and exhausting for me! We started out this morning by going to Gardner Village with my sis-in-law Sheri & her little boy Mason, and my friend Christine & her little dude Carsen. We did the little Witch Hunt they have each year where we have to walk around and find all the different types of life-size witches that are doing various activities - then at the end they turn it in for a cookie at the bakery. For example, there are a group of witches that are playing baseball, a 'frequent flyer' witch, a witch waiting on a bench for a hug, a witch in a boat, etc. The kids love looking at all the cute decorations and the big witches all over. It is so cute and it's so much fun just to walk around and see all the cute set ups they have. Malia's favorite was the witch on a bench waiting for a hug or whatever...she was a real cheese ball getting her picture taken with that witch! Cole kept looking at it with a little scowl on his face like he was wondering 'why are you touching me?'! It was pretty funny! Of course I forgot my camera though...but luckily Christine and Sheri both had theirs...so as soon as I get some pics from them I'll post them! I also forgot my stroller for Cole...Ry and I had switched cars and I didn't get the stroller out of the trunk first...but luckily my mom came and was a HUGE help keeping both my kids under control! But anyway, it was so much fun! Thanks so much Christine and Sheri for coming with us! We had a blast!
After we were done there, my mom invited me and the kids to take a ride on Trax downtown to see the Joseph Smith movie and go to lunch with her and a friend that was here visiting from California. Malia was super excited about getting to ride on a train...and I was all over the free lunch and just to get out and do something new! The stroller was a little difficult getting on and off the train...I was a little embarrassed a few times today, but luckily there were some nice people on (and off) the train that always came to our rescue! And Malia's expression was priceless while we were riding on the train. Her eyes were bugging out of her head and she had a perma grin. It was great! Again, I was kind ticked that I had forgotten my camera. Cole just had the same kind of blank expression he always has, but he did point at things a lot.
Anyway, we got down there and off the train safely, had lunch in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building...at the Legacy diner or something like that...on the 1st floor. It was really good! I'd never eaten there before and I would definitely recommend it! Anyway, then we saw the Joseph Smith movie at the Legacy theatre. Malia did really good and Cole fell asleep for about 20 minutes of it. But both did great and didn't make a peep the whole time. They did good!
After the movie was over we went on a short little tour of the Conference Center and Malia loved the waterfalls and fountains on the very top. We had to cut the tour short a little because she had a soccer game tonight too - yeah....we had a non-stop day today! But as usual, her 'soccer' game mostly consisted of Malia dancing on and off the field, picking flowers, doing head stands, and even playing ring-around-the-rosies with Brinley McLeod today too. I think next time we'll try dance or gymnastics and see if she likes it any better. Hey, at least we got soccer shorts, socks, and a shirt out of this right?!
It was a long but fun day, and both kids passed out the second we got home...so we didn't have the normal bed time arguments today and that was nice! But I think we'll just be lazy around the house tomorrow!

Watching those kids play soccer is fun. They are so cute. Tell me when the next game is and I'll go see Ryan coach them (like herding cats).

I don't have my cable to upload the pics from my camera (i'm not sure where i packed it during the move), but if I can find Kathy's, I'll send you the pictures soon! I had so much fun yesterday! We need to have a set play day each week or something. Mason's having friend withdrawls. And I am too! haha

I forgot about the witches at Gardner Village. We went last year, but I didn't know about the scavenger hunt thing. That sounds really fun! Your kids are adorable! Where's Malia going to preschool?

that sounds like a very very full day-- I am sure you had a great night sleep too:)

Gardner Village is my favorite place to go in October, well I live that place year around but mostly around halloween for the witches:)
