Malia's haircut & Santa Claus

I was so nervous to cut her hair, but Malia has been asking to for a very long time now to do it. So I finally agreed and we took her in on Friday. She is so stinkin' cute! I absolutely love it! Her curls are gone now, but maybe when she hits puberty her hormones will make it curly again! But we'd pretty much already cut off her curls a few months ago anyway so there wasn't much we could do about that. But I love her hair and she loves it too! She keeps looking in the mirror and smiling at herself and saying 'I like my hair!'. And whenever she sees anyone now the first thing she says is 'I got my hair cut!' So I'm glad she is happy and I love it too! Anyway, here are some pics.

She was very patient and they gave her a little 'doll' to do her hair while Malia was waiting for her haircut (while I was getting mine done). Malia did a great job on her little doll!

She had the funniest expression when she cut the first big chunk off and showed it to Malia...I wish I'd gotten a picture of that. Then she started getting a little nervous - she just wanted it to be long enough for a pony tail still. But she was fine once we showed her it would still fit in a pony!
She giggled the whole time when she was blow drying her hair because her face would get 'lost' in her hair! But she didn't like getting squirt with water and had a pretty funny scowl on her face when that happened!
This morning we went to my parents ward for their annual Christmas breakfast and they have Santa come for all the kids. Last year neither of them wanted to sit on his lap, and Cole screamed his head off. Malia only stood next to him for a picture and that was it. This year Malia went right up to him to sit on his lap and was totally fine and told him how she wanted ALL the fairies dresses, but mostly a Tinkerbell dress. Cole on the other hand...he started getting nervous as soon as we walked in the door to the room he was in! He wanted me to hold him and then was clinging on for dear life! Santa had to pry him out of my arms to get a picture. But, no crying!! He saw that candy cane and he was ok! But he wouldn't look at him or talk to him still, but it's still progress! He let us take a few pictures before he flew off Santa's lap. Then he even waved and said 'bye Santa!' when we left. So at least we know he won't be traumatized for life!
