Malia's Christmas Dance Recital

At Malia's dance studio they don't do a huge production for Christmas, just kind of a little show for the parents to see how they are improving, etc. But in the Spring they will have a huge recital at some school or auditorium somewhere. So sorry we couldn't invite everyone to come see this one - we were only allowed to bring 2 guests because it was just in their little dance studio that she goes to every week....so me and Ry went and that was it. But we will definitely tell everyone about the spring one when it comes around.

Anyway, Ryan and I are so proud of Malia and it was so much fun to watch all the cute little girls (especially ours!) dancing around the room. Malia is so funny! Her and her friend Londyn would giggle at each other after everything and then some of the other girls would start giggling too! It was so funny! I think it was just the audience of all the parents there that made them all giggly! I really wish Malia would have started last year though...a few of the girls are in their 2nd year of dance and you can totally tell the difference! Malia stands there in kind of a daze sometimes like she doesn't know quite what to do! But it still is so cute! She sings along with all the songs just as much as she dances! Maybe I need to get her into some type of singing lessons now too!

Here are some pics of them warming up and stretching! They pretend they stick peanut butter and jelly in between their feet to make them stick and they 'smell' it...then they 'listen' to their knees to hear what it says when they stretch out their legs...and they practice pointing and flexing their toes and counting to ten while they touch their nose to their knees...or kiss it, or whatever it was! But the girls are all so giggly and laugh at it! It makes it fun and I love how they do it! Their teacher (Sarah) is so great!!

Then they line up at the side of the room and do certain things across the floor. The first one is Malia doing 'flicks' and they glue their arms to their side and they bend their knees and kick their heels all the way up to their 'seaters'! The second picture is Malia doing the sashay across the room. For some reason she seems to like to close her eyes when she does things! She did it a LOT and it was so cute!

This is a short little clip of part of her Suzy Snowflake dance...and right in the middle of it you hear a little 'thud' and all the girls stop dancing and are kind of staring in our direction...yeah, that would be Cole. He face planted off the chair right in front of all the girls. So we distracted them a little bit for a minute...oops! But luckily Cole didn't start screaming or anything! You just hear him cough right after Ry picked him up and he started eating his fruit snacks again! Thank goodness for snacks!

After it was over they all got to pose by the Christmas Tree in the corner...and of course Malia and Londyn had to get pics together! They are so stinkin' cute and I love that Malia has such a good friend and that they get along so well together!

Right before we left, they had another special suprise for the parents and the girls all sang us 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'...it was so funny! Half of them were singing faster than the others so they all jump and sing different parts at different times! It was great!!

We are so proud of Malia and I really wish you could all have been there to see it! We have the whole thing on our video camera but I still haven't figured out how to get them uploaded...so sorry, but I just have the small little clips from off my dig. camera. I really want to get a good camera so that I can have better pictures....my camera stinks sometimes! Or I guess I just need to learn how to take them better. Anyway good job my little princess!
