I have been a total slacker lately with updating this thing. Busy busy summer I guess, in between school and swim lessons and work and play dates and naps, etc etc. But tonight was so much fun, I have to post this even though I don't have the pictures yet that go along with it - because I pulled another 'Jen' moment and forgot my camera. Luckily someone else there had one and took pics for us.
Anyway, a guy in our ward invited us over for family night to let the kids have rides on his horses! My kids have never done that but they were so excited! Malia was all over it and jumped right on and had a huge grin and kept begging to do it again. She had a hard time waiting her turn while the other kids went! Then she got to help take off the saddle and rode on the horse bareback for a minute, then got to help brush the horse's back. She was loving it! It was so cute to see her face light up each time she got on!
Cole on the other hand, was loving looking at the horse until it 'neighed' and Cole just about jumped out of my arms and then wouldn't even look at it. He buried his head in my shoulder and cried when we tried to put him on by himself. So I had to ride with him, then he was ok and actually looked like he was enjoying himself! We tried again to put him up with out us hoping he'd realized he liked it after his first round, but still he panicked and Ry got to ride with him the next time. Cole wouldn't even do it with Malia...just with mom or dad. But at least he got on! It was pretty cute!
Anyway, it was definitely a fun experience for them and I can't wait to get pictures from the neighbors to post!
Oh, and earlier today, Malia was playing dress up and put make up on to get ready for 'the ball' and Ryan asked her where she learned to put make up on and Malia's answer was 'in Primary'!! So apparently that's what they are teaching her at church and that's where she's picking up her sweet make up applying skills! I'll post a picture of that later as well....our stupid internet doesn't work long enough to upload any pictures so I have to wait for Ry to bring his computer home from work. But anyway, it was a fun day!
