9 Mo Checkup & just random stuff

We took Cole for his 9 month check up today. Luckily we didn't have to get any shots so it was a relatively quick visit. We met our new doctor, Karen Lantz. She seemed very nice and I think we will like her, but I still miss Brian, Dr. Good - I worked with him for over a year up at Primary's until I had Malia...so I knew him very well and could trust him. He left to do some humanitarian thing in Columbia for 3 years so we had to get a new pediatrician. He recommended me to Karen so that's how we found her. She also was a hospitalist at Primary's while I worked there - but I had never met her. I still feel good about her just knowing she worked there though because I loved everything about Primary's. It is such a good hospital and have some amazing, incredible doctors and nurses there.
So anyway, Cole is now 21 lbs (well, 20.9...so close enough) and 29.3 in tall. That puts him in the 80% range for his height, and only 50% range for weight, which actually suprised me a little. I thought it would be higher - he's a fatty! Malia was just over 24 lbs for her 3 yr check up a while ago...so Cole will be trampling over her in no time!

Cole is getting better at walking, but only along furniture or if he's holding onto our fingers. If we try to let go at all, he just sits down. He hasn't quite got his confidence up for the whole walking thing.

Malia got to go fishing for her first time this afternoon too. After we took Cole to his apt, Dan was taking the boys to a little pond in murray to go fishing and invited Malia to go with them. They didn't catch anything this time, but we still had fun just hanging out with the boys - and it was nice to just be out of the house. I've been so ridiculously obsessed with the Twilight books that we haven't got outside the house much the last few days. However, if any of you are also twilight freaks, my sister-in-law found a perfect song that we think goes along with the books. It's called Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis...it's on my blog playlist so you can listen to it. The lyrics are perfect for these books! I feel like a 17 yr old little girl with a crush with these dang books, but I can't help it! They're just so addicting! It's ok, you can all go ahead and laugh at me!

One more thing I thought was funny - this morning in the car I asked Malia what she wanted for her birthday (which is Friday) and she said she wanted a TinkerBell cake - which has changed from her Cinderella or Snow White cake that she's been asking for before. I said 'ok, but what do you want for your present?' And she just answered "a pink one". So I guess as long as I have it in pink wrapping paper she will be happy!
