Weekend Events

First of all, happy April Fools Day! I will be expecting to hear some great stories of how everyone's jokes went today!

I have been trying to blog for a few days now but our internet has not been working and I haven't been able to get on for a few days.
This weekend was pretty busy. We always have lots of errands to run on the one day a week that Ryan is home - which he is gone a lot even on Saturdays to study too. But we were lucky enough to have him home this weekend and we went over to a neighbor's house to borrow their bikes and little thing for the kids to ride in that is pulled behind the bikes. We had a nice little bike ride around the neighborhood - and I got a much needed workout! I need to do it more often and get this baby weight off. It's amazing how much harder and longer it takes to get back into shape after having the 2nd kid.
When we got home we saw an ambulance in our parking lot and saw one of our neighbors that works for United Fire Dept. and went over to say hello and get our mail. He said that they were here for Ann and we were extremely shocked. We saw Miranda coming out of Ann's apartment and went over to see what's going on. The bishop and his wife were there and she told us that Ann had called her for help because she couldn't get ahold of any of her kids. So she came over and called 911. Anyway, so we got there just as they were taking Ann out of the apt into the ambulance.
So anyway, what had happened was that Ann had a UTI that turned into a kidney infection, which backed up into her blood stream. The paramedics said that if she didn't have close help that it could have been fatal. It was very scary. She told me just a day or two before that she was thinking about checking herself into the ER because she was in so much pain. Now I wish I would have taken her myself. But she is so much like me and would have refused anyway thinking that she would be ok and get over it eventually.
I remembered having several of my patients up at Primary's that had the same thing and it was fatal - of course for babies and kids it happens much quicker.
But anyway, we were all very worried about Ann. We don't know what we would do without her! She is Ryan's aunt, but has always been like a mother to us. She has helped us out so many times with watching kids, has invited us over for Sunday dinners countless times even though we often feel like we are invading in their family time - but Ann has always made us feel welcome. She is the sweetest person I have ever met. I love living so close to her and being able to go over to her house to see a friendly face any time I need it. She always has the best advice and makes me feel better when I am depressed or about all my petty complaints. We love Ann dearly and have been praying for her every day.
We went to see her at the hospital after church on Sunday and although she still looked exhausted she said that she was feeling a little better. We called Monday to check on her again and to see if we could take her some lunch or anything and she said that they were going to send her home that afternoon sometime, so we didn't go out to the hospital to see her. But we did check on her last night after she got home. We are glad that everything is healing for her and that she will be ok. We love you Ann!
