updates

Sometimes I wonder why I even do the whole blogging thing anymore. It seems like no one reads it anyway, and everyone is into the facebook thing instead now. I personally don't like facebook...there's just way too much to look at - or waste time on. But I guess I keep doing my blog more for me...I am bad at writing in my journal - so I copy and paste my entries from my blog into my journal. It's better than nothing, right?
Anyway, here are some of the things we've done over the last couple months.

Cole has been climbing out of his crib for a while now so we decided to turn it in to a toddler bed. He has done so awesome! Not once has he gotten out of bed when he wasn't supposed to...and he still doesn't even get out when he wakes up in the morning or from his nap until we come in and tell him to come give us a hug! He just sits there and waits for us to come get him! He's so cute! He seems to really like it too and whenever we say its time for bed or nap, he runs up and climbs on all by himself. He's such a good little guy! And he's only fallen out once so that's good. And it actually was 2 weeks after we converted his crib too so I was kind of suprised he didn't at all in the beginning.

A few weeks ago we went up the canyon for a picnic - ok, actually we were slackers and didn't go to our region conference that day so we did the canyon and picnic thing instead. But the kids loved it! They loved being outside and walking around and throwing rocks in the river. Malia found a perfect little rock that was our 'table' for the picnic too. They were so cute! So here are some of my favorite pics from that little outing.

Malia was throwing the leaves in the air and every time she would arch her back and spread her arms way out like this...even throwing leaves is dramatic for this little girl! And Cole thought it was hilarious so they were both just giggling! It was pretty cute!

The first snow is always fun and of course the kids wanted to go out and play in it. Malia had been begging to go out and make a snowman in it all morning so I made Ry go outside to do it with them! (I hate being cold! But I actually did have a lot I was doing that day too so it was nice to have them outside for a little while) Ry is such a good sport! Thanks babe!
For our family night a couple weeks ago we all went over to Jeff & Sheri's and carved our pumpkins! The kids aren't really into it yet...they love to pain and put stickers all over theirs, but they still don't really like to help pull out the pumpkin guts! But all of the adults had fun! Here was the finished product! Next time though, we'll have to do it just a couple days before Halloween...these were almost 2 weeks before and all of them were totally rotting and gross within a couple days after carving them! So now we know that they won't last 2 weeks for next year!

And here are pics from Halloween week. We had a ton of trick or treating nights this year...one with our Grandma Jennie, then with Malia's dance class, and then with her preschool class, then at Ryan's work party, and finally on Halloween. I'm so sick of candy and we haven't even scratched the surface of the bags yet. On Halloween night, we went to my Grandma's retirement center to go trick or treating. Since we'd done so much trick or treating already that week, it was nice to do it just inside where it was warm and not have to walk around the neighborhood. They have all the cute little old people sitting in their wheel chairs lined up down the halls and they give each kid a handful of candy! Their bags were seriously overflowing within 20 minutes! And Malia was so cute too...she would say 'thank you and happy halloween!' to every single person! I think she heard someone else say it so she started doing it too, but the grandma's and grandpa's loved it and all got a big ol' grin when she said it them! Cole took a few minutes to warm up to people and was hesitant at first to get close enough for someone to put candy in his bag...but I think after he realized he was getting a lot of candy, he would just walk right up to the next person and hold up his bag up right by their hand that was giving out the candy until that hand put something in his bag, and then he'd move along to the next one! He still wouldn't say 'trick or treat' to anyone or look them in the face, but he wasn't hiding from them either so that's good!
Cole, Mason, & Malia waiting patiently to start trick or treating at Grandma Jennie's!

This one of Malia is great at showing one of her her new 'poses' she likes to do every time we take a picture ofher now.

This one was at my Activity Days Halloween party and Malia got to come with me! She doesn't have her hat on, but her little smile was so cute...even with the pizza all over her mouth!
My cute little witch & handsome little vampire!
Malia fell asleep on the way to go trick or treating at my Grandma's. Her hat fell down in front of her face like this and she was snoring and drool was dripping down her little face! It was so cute!
Cole trick or treating & my sweet Grandma J!

Anyway, halloween was a lot of fun! I'm kind of glad it is over though cuz we do not need any more junk food in our house! And Malia is already planning on what she wants to do next year...although it changes depending on who she talks to. But the last I heard, was that she wants us all to be fairies. She will be Tinker Bell, I can be either Silvermist or Rosetta, and Ryan and Cole can be the boy fairies from the Tinker Bell movie...either Terence, Clank, or Bobble! Ryan LOVED that idea!!! =) So we'll see! She's a funny little girl! Anyway, I hope everyone else had a fun Halloween too!

I read your blog still!

A womb for rent

I read your blog.. but I know what you mean about FB! I feel the same way and I never write in my blog anymore. I need to come visit you, I miss you since I didn't get to see that long the other night :(

Hey Jen, I use this as a journal too and copy and paste it. I think that's great! I usually don't comment because I'm nursing Haven when I read blogs and I only have one hand to type with, which can be very tedious!

Ally

I read your blog! The girls do too. Any time you want a sitter just give us a call. I'll send them both over...it'll be funner that way...more like playing that being babysat. They'd love it!

I feel the same way about the blog thing. But I don't think I've EVER kept a journal! And it looks like Halloween was quite an eventful time for you guys! How fun!

StephNyd

I always read your blog.:) more people read it than you probably think, but they might not always comment.
Lacey has been in a big bed for quite some time now, but we still have to keep the rail up on the side because she moves around so much that she falls out if it's not there.
Looks like halloween was fun. Cute costumes. :)

Jamie

Jim and Jana Bramble

Keep doing your blog. Even if nobody reads it (we do) it will be like a journal cole and malia will love to go back and read later when they are older.

Cute cute cute! I wish I would have seen all of the kiddies in their costumes! (and to add to the others who've already said it - I still read your blog!) ;)

I read blogs more than do FB. I put tid-bits on FB but put details in blogs. So even though I might not read everything someone writes, i still love to see pictures and have the option to read all about it. lol. CUTE picts btw!
